The inspiration for #mytransformation was provided to me by the U.S. Army. In my pursuits to be a competitive amateur strongman I lost my aerobic base and added several additional pounds to my bodyweight. Both of these changes made running significantly harder for me. In order to sign my last contract, taking me to military retirement, I had to have a valid passing score on my fitness test.
In preparation to take the fitness test I wanted to gauge my current ability by running my first mile in about a year, it did not go well. By the half-way point I was already walking. So I have gotten started on the transformation early and currently have a 16:14 2-mile and weigh in right around 230 at ~20% body fat. By the end of the transformation I will run a 15:45 or below and will be at 18% body fat or less. The best part about this plan is having an awesome training partner, Tank.
